The missing tile has four outlined stars (option 4).
How to solve it
- Start with the first row and name what changes from tile to tile.
- Each row has its own shape: triangle in the first row, cross in the second row, star in the third row.
- Across each row the number of shapes goes two, three and four.
- The fill (outline) stays the same in every tile.
- Check the rules on the second row, then apply them to the third.
- So the missing tile has four outlined stars.
About this puzzle
Easy grids pair a progression (a count or size that grows across each row) with a shape that stays the same within each row. It was generated by the same engine that builds the IQ Octopus test, from a fixed seed, so it stays the same every time you visit. In the real test, items like this are generated fresh for every attempt.
