Short answer
Each practice test is 10 questions with 30 seconds per question, about 5 minutes in all. You get your practice score (for example 8 of 10) the moment you finish, plus the answers. A practice score is not an IQ; the full test gives you an estimated IQ.
Want an estimated IQ instead of a practice score? The full test takes about 12 minutes.

The missing panel shows a large hatched circle, with small solid shapes: a square at the top-right corner and a square at the top-left corner (option 3).
How to solve it
- Compare the first two panels and name exactly what changed.
- The main shape and the small shapes swap forms: the main shape takes the form of the small ones, and the small ones take the form of the main shape.
- Nothing else changes.
- Apply the same change to the third panel: a large hatched square, with small solid shapes: a circle at the top-right corner and a circle at the top-left corner.
- So the missing panel shows a large hatched circle, with small solid shapes: a square at the top-right corner and a square at the top-left corner.
That was 1 puzzle. The full test has 25.

Questions
Is a practice test score the same as an IQ?
No. A practice score counts how many of 10 items you solved in time. An IQ compares you with other people your age on a longer, calibrated test, so the two are not interchangeable.
Are these practice tests free?
Yes. Every practice test on this page is free, with no sign-up, and the score appears as soon as you finish.
How are the questions made?
By the same generator that builds the IQ Octopus test, from fixed seeds, so each practice test stays the same and you can retake it. The full test generates fresh items for every attempt.
