The missing tile has three outlined diamonds (option 3).
How to solve it
- Start with the first column and name what changes from tile to tile.
- Across each column the shape goes cross, circle and diamond, the same in every column.
- Each column has its own number of shapes: one in the first column, two in the second column, three in the third column.
- The fill (outline) stays the same in every tile.
- Check the rules on the second column, then apply them to the third.
- So the missing tile has three outlined diamonds.
About this puzzle
Easy grids pair a progression (a count or size that grows across each row) with a shape that stays the same within each row. It was generated by the same engine that builds the IQ Octopus test, from a fixed seed, so it stays the same every time you visit. In the real test, items like this are generated fresh for every attempt.
