The missing tile has a large outlined diamond (option 6).
How to solve it
- Start with the first column and name what changes from tile to tile.
- Every row and every column contains each shape (pentagon, diamond and triangle) exactly once.
- Every row and every column contains each fill (outline, solid and hatched) exactly once.
- The size (large) stays the same in every tile.
- Check the rules on the second column, then apply them to the third.
- So the missing tile has a large outlined diamond.
About this puzzle
Medium grids use a distribution of three on two attributes at once: each row and column holds three shapes, and three counts or fills, once each. It was generated by the same engine that builds the IQ Octopus test, from a fixed seed, so it stays the same every time you visit. In the real test, items like this are generated fresh for every attempt.
